Gail has over thirty years of experience in aviation, beginning her career as cabin crew before taking on a variety of roles at British Airways. The last two years were spent training safety and emergency procedures for flight deck and cabin crew.

Upon having left aviation, Gail retrained as a clinical counsellor with a specialization in Organisational Psychiatry and Psychology. This led her to found her own consultancy as well as work for a variety of organisations to deploy on their behalf for their clients. To date, Gail has responded to 36 international and UK-based incidents; usually as a Senior Incident Director, Director of Family Assistance or Head of Mental Health.

Gail has responded to incidents in France, Cyprus, Libya, Tunisia and the UK, and she delivers strategic level lectures for a variety of international institutions as guest lecturer including at the Emergency Planning College in York.

A published author and researcher in the area of aviation disaster and crisis management, Gail currently works as a Senior Lecturer in Aviation and Security at Bucks New University in the UK as Course Leader for the MSc in Aviation Organisational Resilience.

Gail is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the Higher Education Academy. She is a full Member of the Emergency Planning Society
